Sachin Tendulkar Revisits Childhood Memories, Leaves Pravin Amre Emotional

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as he recalled his early cricketing days under coach Ramakant Achrekar. He spoke about starting his journey with basic gear, including simple canvas shoes, highlighting the humble beginnings of aspiring cricketers in the 1980s.

Tendulkar shared a touching story about his admiration for a pair of cricket shoes owned by his senior, Pravin Amre. Amre had challenged him to score a century in exchange for the shoes. Although Tendulkar achieved the milestone, he admitted he didn’t have the courage to ask for them, but Amre remembered the promise and gifted him the pair, making it his first “fancy” cricket shoes.

The emotional moment, recalled during the launch of TEN X YOU, left Amre visibly moved. Tendulkar also reflected on how his own experiences, including dealing with foot injuries later in his career, shaped his understanding of sports gear. He concluded by encouraging youngsters to actively play sports and embrace fitness as part of their lives.
